Back from Orlando and the 2003 EHX Show.  To check it out on the web, click here -> ehexpo.com

The Electronic House Expo (EHX) was held at the Orange County Exposition Center in Orlando, Florida this year.  Starting Wednesday, February 26th, and running thru Saturday, March 1st, the EHX show is one of the nation's best excuses for my wife and I to escape winter in Wisconsin and join the snowbirds for a week away.

Neat new products for your home and office that I found at the show are being featured on our products pages.  Just give the link above a click if you would like to browse the stuff we are using this year in home integration design and installation.

I especially liked the new vehicle presence detector from Magc Company.  For very little cost, this product can be easily added to your new or existing home automation and security systems.  If someone drives into your property, the sensor trips and causes whatever action you like to happen on the system ... open a closed circuit camera view on you TV screen and start a security recording, sound a chime different from your doorbell, turn on specific yard and entryway or garage lights, or other actions you might want to happen.

I also really liked to new compact and easy to follow wall controllers from Lutron, that look great and are simple to use.  Now you can very easily have whole house lighting and security control can be installed where ever a wall switch or table lamp would normally be found.

While it was great to get to see and handle the new gadgets, it was especially good to see that innovation and simplification is continuing.  It's less and less a gadget lover's paradise - this is stuff everyone can truly benefit from and easily afford.
